My Little Courtney

from Somewhere in the Back of My Heart by J.P. Cormier

/

about

While on tour with Stompin’ Tom, Dave Gunning and I were sitting in a really bad motel somewhere and he said: “Ya know what a cool name for a girl is?” “What?” I said falling out of my chair. “Courtney!” says Dave. Then we both passed out. I don’t remember anything else. These lyrics were smeared over a pizza box lid the next morning. True story.
